Ambika Thiagarajan
As an artist, I draw inspiration from the intimate connections between pets, humans, and nature—three elements that speak to the core of our shared experiences and emotions. Through my work, I aim to explore and capture their essence in a contemporary light.
By blending abstract and realistic techniques, I enjoy creating visual narratives using acrylic and oil paints, found elements like dry leaves, various textural mediums that really help me convey my voice. Pets become symbols of unconditional love and companionship, while humans are portrayed in moments of vulnerability, strength, and connection. Nature, both wild and cultivated, serves as a backdrop, reflecting not just physical landscapes but emotional terrains, where inner worlds are mirrored in the environment. I often insert nature into my artworks of pets and humans as I cherish the natural beauty around us on a daily basis (especially when I take my puppy Matcha for his morning!).
Through the use of dynamic textures, adventurous colors, and inventive forms, I reinterpret these elements, offering a fresh perspective that challenges the viewer to consider their own relationship with the living world around them. My work serves as a reminder of the beauty found in these connections, celebrating the harmony between all forms of life in a modern and ever-changing world.
